St. Patrick's Day
Home & Garden Show
The Home and Garden Show was the brilliant innovation of one of the Cresswind Lifestyle Directors, Jana Chanthabane. It has morphed over the years. The show puts businesses and residents together face to face to showcase their products and services.
COVID made it more difficult as well as trying to get the small "Mopm & Pop" businesses that need the work. With small businesses, they need to use that day or working instead of talking to residents.
This event also allows the Social Committee to add additional funding to the Lifestyle budget since there are few epenses for the event.
We now do the Home and Garden Show in late April.
Easter Egg Hunt
The comunity typically holds their Oyster Roast in late February or early March.
Hot Dogs are grilled for those that do not find the Oysters all that enjoyable.
The firepit is fired up for cold days.
We now have our yearly Chili-Cookoff competition with this event. Break out your best Chili recipie and see if you can out-cook your competition!
Our yearly Easter Egg Hunt is a big winner with the children. Over 2,000 plastic eggs are stuffed with candy and scattered around the Live Oak field next to the Pavilion and the grounds around the Pavilion and Farmhouse. The eggs are not really hidden. The hunt becomes more like a race to see if you can pick up as many eggs as possible. But the kids love it! One Golden egg is placed for each group which can be turned in for a prize.
The children are broken down into three age groups: 3 and under, 4 through 7 and *and above.
Other activities have been paired with the egg hunt. We have had cupcake decorating, pictures with the Easter Bunny and other craft projects.

Community Photos & Videos of Events and Clubs
We inititially had a photo montage of some of our community events on the Events and Clubs page. A decision was made to move that montage to this page and expand the community contributed photo's. Part of that decision was based on having pictures of residents family made public instead of available only to resdidents as is done on Facebook.
Event by Event pictures can be viewed after the montage. We also included pictures from residents of holiday decorations in the community

Fourth Fest has been one of those activities that has changed throughout the years. The communities first ones had catered lunches, childrens events as well as the traditional parade. And of course, the evening ended in Fireworks!
Eventually, as the developer stopped throwing as much money into the events, they scaled back to Food Trucks, the parade, a DJ, childrens bounce house and Fireworks.
The new Social Committee is hoping to move back to more of what we used to do for the Fourth Fest. Even though we may no longer be able to provide fireworks, we can certainly make Fourth Fest our premier event of the year.
Food Truck Friday's has been a popular event. On the last Friday of the month starting in April and running though September, three or four savory fodd trucks and a couple of sweet food trucks come into the community. We park them out on Oak View Dr so residents can order and sit out under the Live Oaks in the field.
Entertainment is booked to provide some background music for residents.
Residents are encourage to bring up their Golf Carts as there is limited vehicle parking in the pool parking lot.
